Arrive at Amman airport, where a Highlands Travel representative meets you and assists with arrival formalities. Transfer to your hotel in Amman for dinner and overnight.

Drive to Madaba, the “City of Mosaics”, to see the 6th-century mosaic map of the Holy Land in the Church of St. George. Continue to Mount Nebo, where Moses viewed the Promised Land; on a clear day the view reaches the Jordan Valley, Jericho and Jerusalem. Follow the King’s Highway to Kerak Castle, one of the largest Crusader castles in the region, set on a hilltop above the Dead Sea valley. Continue to Petra for dinner and overnight.

A full day in Petra, the rose-red city of the Nabataeans and one of the New Seven Wonders of the World. Ride a short way on horseback, then walk through the Siq to the Treasury and continue past the Street of Facades, the Theatre and the Royal Tombs. The light is at its best in the early morning and late afternoon. Continue to a desert camp in Wadi Rum for a Bedouin-style dinner, an evening of traditional music and an overnight under the desert sky.

Breakfast at the camp, then explore Wadi Rum, the “Valley of the Moon”, on a 2-hour 4x4 jeep tour among sandstone and granite mountains, red dunes, natural arches and ancient rock inscriptions left by the Nabataeans and earlier peoples. Drive north to the Dead Sea for time to float in the water, then continue to Amman for dinner and overnight.

Breakfast at the hotel, then transfer to Amman airport, where our representative assists you with departure formalities.
